It is becoming apparently clear that in order to achieve a desired outcome we simply must be able to concentrate our thoughts purely on one objective and at the same time banish fear, anxiety or discouragement, which are also powerful thought forces, but sends the things we desire further away, so that it is often “one step forward and two steps backward” in our thinking process. In addition we need to ignore the negative obstacles of the outside world.
This week we read that “We must first have the knowledge of our power; second, the courage to dare; third, the faith to do it”.
As illustrated in Master Key 12:4 “The only way to keep from going backward is to keep going forward. Eternal vigilance is the price of success. There are three steps, and each one is absolutely essential. You must first have the knowledge of your power; second, the courage to dare; third, the faith to do.”
It is becoming clear that we don’t look outside of our self for the answers. The answer is within and is accessible through thought and connecting to power by sitting still. There we each find the unchangeable principles and learn to adjust ourselves to the natural laws. It is in the Silence that we get into touch with the Omnipotent power of the subconscious mind from which all power is evolved. He who desires wisdom, power, or permanent success of any kind will find it only within; to distance the watchmen at the gate from the noise and distractions of the moment… we surrender to the world within… we’re at peace!
There is a price to pay… it’s our faith and belief… remember that only in absolute silence may one come into contact with Divinity itself; may learn of the unchangeable law and open for himself the channels by which persistent practice of the five P’s and concentration lead to perfection.
Finally, when love is the force behind your creative thought there will be nothing to stop the manifestation of your true desire.
With this as our basis we can construct our ideal business; we can go after our ideal home, ideal friends; ideal environment; in other words we can go after our dreams and desires without limitations and we will not be restricted as to material or cost. The illustration continues in Master Key 12:5 “Thought is omnipotent and has the power to draw on the Infinite bank of primary substance for all that it requires. Infinite resources are therefore at your command.”
Multitasking Is Out Laser Focused Concentration Is In.
Reference Master Key 12.0 “The time and thought which most persons waste in aimless effort would accomplish wonders if properly directed with some special object in view. In order to do this, it is necessary to centre your mental force upon a specific thought and hold it there, to the exclusion of all other thoughts. ”
Then Haanel goes on with an illustration “If you ever looked through the viewfinder of a camera, you found that when the object was not in focus, the impression was indistinct and possibly blurred, but when the proper focus was obtained the picture was clear and distinct.” This illustrates the power of concentration.
He goes on and states “Unless you can concentrate upon the object which you have in view, you will have but a hazy, indifferent, vague, indistinct and blurred outline of your idea and the results will be in accordance with your mental picture.”
In other words it has to be clear and focused.
“But your ideal must be sharp, clear-cut, and definite; to have one ideal today, another tomorrow, and a third next week, means to scatter your forces and accomplish nothing; your result will be a meaningless and chaotic combination of wasted material.”
Knowledge does not apply itself. The manifestation will only occur through taking consistent action in the direction of our purpose. Once that begins, there won’t be any time or attention to distraction. Intention governs attention.
This is where the mental diet and having no opinion is so powerful, as it makes us deliberate and positive, without a judgment that might interfere with our focus on correct thought. In Master Key 12.18 Haanel says, “Thought impregnated with love becomes invincible.” And finally, in 12.21, “it is the combination of Thought and Love which forms the irresistible force, called the law of attraction.”
This week our assignment includes writing out at least 30 index cards with positive things we have accomplished in our life. It is a very good exercise (one that I have never focused on in the past) because a life of quiet desperation is more focused on survival, not so much on successful accomplishments.
In addition to continuing to be the observer, this week we should continue to focus on the Law of Growth – what we think about grows.
